AGRICULTURAL LIME, AGLIME, CROP FINES AND AERIAL LIME

Agricultural Lime (Aglime), also known as Calcium Carbonate, is used to balance the acidity in soil.

Simply put, Aglime is a soil conditioner essential for maintaining optimum soil health. This in turn leads to a number of important profit generating benefits. Benefits such as improved nutrient efficiency in plants - improving the effectiveness of fertiliser, a decreased availability of some harmful metals, including manganese and aluminium, an increase in organic matter and soil micro and macro organisms, and better pasture quality - leading to an increase in stock size and health, to name but a few.

For a while now many farmers have regarded aglime as an optional extra, something to spend excess on if there are some dollars left over once fertiliser has been applied. Because Aglime improves the overall soil condition, fertiliser applied after aglime is therefore more efficient and effective, leading to savings and increased profit in the long-run.

Agricultural Lime (Aglime) that gives the best results contains a higher level of Calcium Carbonate, or CaCO3. The higher the level of CaCO3, the purer the lime - the more efficient it is in improving soil conditions. Rorisons Agricultural Lime contains at least 93% CaCO3.

Fine particle agricultural lime (aglime) or Cropfines, is perfect for growing crops such as turnips and swedes. This product is quick releasing and applied at cultivation prior to planting, ensuring the crops get ultimate nutrient absorption and retention from fertilisers applied once planted. Rorisons also supply Aglime as Aerial Lime, which is free flowing and suitable for aircraft application.
